Depends on why it's dirty and to what degree you want it clean.

Clean enough to drink? Or clean enough to wash in? etc.

Use alum.......take a piece of alum and swirl it in the water and take out. the mud will all sink to the bottom and the water will be clear. Another way is to filter the water with a water filter, boil it and then let it cool and put in the fridge. There are also tablets you can buy from the chemists if you want the water to drink.

Pop it in a washing machine on a 50 degree wash. Ariel claim to remove all mud stains on their packs, so give that a go. No need to spin it. Just hang it up outside, its lovely and hot, and it will be dry in no time.
