I was always wondering what tribe Alexander the Great came from, was he greek, thracian or else? If someone has any historical sources to mention them, that would be great. Because I think that recently in the last 70 years there is speculation that he was Macedonian, which is not I believe the truth

He was macedonian but you should remeber that this does not mean he came from the country currently known as Macedonia but rather from the (now) greek region of Macedonia.

Alexander the Great was Greek. He was Dorian Greek, just like Spartans were.

I am Bulgarian of Former Yugoslavia. We don't have a big complex with our history in our country and we claim that Alexander was just Macedonian because we try to steal the history of our neighbors.

You might like to read a book on the subject! A good 'fictionalised' account of Alexander's life is Mary Renault's Alexander trilogy - based on fact but embellished - still very good.

He was Macedonian. The fact that his father was King Phillip of Macedon might be a giveaway.
