there is an house next to my parents house that the city is taking bids on.the best bid gets the house.i'm not sure where to go to get that information.

If it is indeed being offered by the city, contact city hall in your city and ask them who is in charge. It could be the building department, but it's odd that a city is doing this. It could be a HUD home or some other goverment auction site. I know in my state you go to: http://www.mcbreo.com/ to find HUD homes. Contact a realtor in your area if neither of these work. If the city is auctioning the house it would have to be publicly noticed. Usually this is done in or around the courthouse. Most courthouses have bulletin board near the front doors they use to post notifications. Good Luck
