It's been many, many years since I've been pregnant but I still remember the heartburn vividly. If you could see the teeny tiny space your stomach has been smashed into by the growing baby, you would understand. Try to eat smaller meals more often and see if that helps. If not, console yourself that you only have two more months of it and then you get to hold your wonderful baby and the heartburn you had won't seem so bad after all. Good luck...and congrats!!

I suggest tums. It's the safest, easiest way. You can eat two or three or four. It won't hurt baby.
If it's going into your throat, it just may be acid reflux. In that case I believe that Aciphex works good for that.
I suggest talking to your OB about it, though. It can get bad if you take or do the wrong thing.
One recommendation is to cut back on tomatoes, spicy foods, orange juice or high acidic foods, and eating or drinking just before you lay down. It's hard when you're pregnant in this case. Just make sure you're eating throughout the day and small meals. If you fill your stomach with too much it'll push that acid up higher and cause more pain and discomfort. The more frequently you eat the less pain you'll feel. If you wait until you're really hungry to eat then the stomach acid builds up and goes up your throat as well.
Good luck!

That happens when you are pregnany. It happened to me too. Try to eact food that is not spicey and cut down on the size of your portions during meals. If you get hungry again it is okay to eat anothermeal. In fact my OBGYN said to eat six small meals a day and not overdo the portion size. If the hartburn persist the contact your OBGYN and tell the doctor. They may be able to prescibe something for you are suggest a good antacid.

The safest option is to eat a dry biscuit (like Marie Biscuits) before you get up in the morning, and about 1/2 hour before a meal.
If this doesn't work, speak to your doctor - never take any medication whilst pregnant before speaking to your doctor.

It is a common thing that most women suffer through pregnancy is heartburn and most doctors tell you to buy mylanta or gaviscon to help it releave the pain. you can have 20 mls before or after meals so it helps you to stop your acid levels from the intergestion you get every time you eat while you are pregnant.

Hi, I'm 28 weeks pregnant and suffer it just the same. I find that eating little and often keeps it at bay. I also find that drinking milk and eating yoghurts to be of help, anything neutralising really. Definately avoid fizzy drinks though, they seem to give me heartburn even when I don't have it. I hope they help

Yes, smaller meals will help. Careful what types of foods you are eating. You know what triggers your heartburn normally. Check with your doctor/nurse for a safe antiacid or solution to ease your comfort level. It's temporary. Hang in there and good luck.

You could also try peppermints. When my mom was pregnant with my little sister, she always had heartburn really bad, and said that the peppermints really helped her out with it. She would go through a bag of the lifesavers peppermints every day...lol

it's not because of your pregnancy but 'coz of a disorder named : Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). it's a digestive disorder caused mainly because of inadequate sleep and tension. so u need to consult a physician. but let me tell u, u can have antacid before every meal and 0.25 MG sleeping pills (mild ones) for one month continuously...this will get corrected.
