it means of a mixed race. nowadays, i don't think it matters to most people. isn't that great? i can just picture god smiling, brushing away a tear of happiness, when he sees how love has broken barriers, and made people realise that he made us all.

Mulatto refers to someone who has a black parent and a white parent.
It's more politically correct to say "Bi-racial", since mulatto has become a derogatory term.

Mulatto, is a person of mixed races. I was unaware that it is a derogatory term, I thought it was Cajun... I apologize for the use of the term, I thought the word was pretty...

I never thought the term was derogatory... come to think of it, only older people around here( about 60 and up) (louisiana) say it and we don't take offense...woman - mulatta man - mulatto. I guess it's on its way out.
