my past birthday parties have involved a luau,at knotts,family reunions...so my point is I want to do something fun and exciting what do you suggest???

Start by choosing a theme. Like the jungle, western, summer, Hawaiian, eastern, arabian nights, tropical, black & white, or else.
Plan you birthday party within the theme you have chosen: the color of your outfit, accessories, decoration, the cake, the food. Tell your friends about the theme and ask them to dress up in something to match the theme.

If you have the time and resources, I might recommend travel to somewhere that you find interesting, maybe involving air travel. What a good way of celebrating this milestone than to get out on your own and do something for yourself. I wouldn't totally ignore friends and family; perhaps some of them can come along, but I would suggest that you set the agenda. Hope that helps.
By the way, congratulations on this major milestone. Be sure to register to vote as well (assume that 18 is the voting age at where you live).

I wouldn't stress over a party either. Go out to eat and invite all of your friends (go to your fave place but make sure your friends know that they each need to foot their own bill) and then spend your actual Birthday at Disneyland with 1-2 close friends and family! :)

Spend some of your day volunteering and giving back to your community. You will find the greatest satisfaction in that. Then spend the rest of your day at a spa.
