The Alta Vista Search Engine has a free online translator called 'Babel Fish' (named after the fish in Hitchikers' Guide to the Galaxy). Cut and paste a bit at a time and click to translate it from French to English and you'll get the rough jist of the letters, even if the grammar and syntax isn't exact.
Failing that, ask a Frenchman...?
