i agree with Abby_H_1993 100% i watch both shows but top gear is the beter one out off all the motor shows going
Top Gear.Jeremy Clarkson James May and Richard Hammond The three of them just work so well togetger. Like when your mixing ingredients to make a cake. And plus they manage to set things on fire by accident.
Most of the things they do you can only film once. That's what makes it so amaizng if you own a caravan park & if any of the Top Gear. presenters Jeremy Clarkson James May and Richard Hammond ask to come to vist your caravan park refuse them entry onless u have ur own fire brigade on stand by lol
Jeremy Clarkson
Born in the decade of the hippy, Clarkson has shunned the way of free love and peace, preferring instead to drive around corners very fast, yelling ‘POWER’ at the top of his lungs.
Clarkson has been accused of some amazing things in his time, including destroying a mountain, destroying the environment and destroying Rover cars. In his defence, the mountain is still there, we can all still breathe and Rover would still be here if their management hadn't been so terrible.
Jeremy writes for both The Sun and The Times as well as Top Gear magazine when he isn't on TV, shouting ‘POWER’. He's also presented Have I Got News for You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and has been a guest on QI a number of times.
James May
When James was first introduced on Top Gear, Jeremy claimed he was ‘clearly a blithering idiot’. The reasoning behind this slightly harsh critique was that James' car at the time was a Bentley T2. His first film on Top Gear was him telling people how great it is to own a 25-year-old classic luxury car, whilst at the same time admitting it cost a small fortune to run and fuel.
James admits that he was once fired from a job with a well known magazine for putting a secret message in a supplement. It's exactly this kind of japery that makes him perfect for the nation's favourite motoring show. James also has his own pilot's licence, which has come in handy on Top Gear once already, although it would help if he was allowed to fly at night...
James writes for The Telegraph and Top Gear magazine when he isn't moving slowly on TV.
Richard Hammond
Hammond first graced British TV screens on cable and satellite channel, Men & Motors. Women the world over adore him, something about his puppy dog eyes, and them wanting to protect him from the nasty Mr Clarkson.
Richard also presents every TV programme on daytime TV, and quite a few in primetime. He also writes for the Daily Mirror when he gets a spare second.
Hammond's hobbies include buying hopeless cars, and then attempting to do them up. As readers of his column in the Mirror will no doubt be aware, his most recent drunken eBay purchase was a Vauxhall Firenza, and not a good one either. In fact, it was a really bad one.
Richard has not had his teeth whitened.
The Stig
Some say he urinates 98 RON petrol, and that he can smell corners. No one knows when the Stig was born, or how. But we do know why he was placed upon the Earth. To drive quickly. He has a penchant for prog rock, and rumour has it, likes his eggs sunny side up.

Going against the flow, I prefer Fifth Gear. Top Gear is just too scripted and tends to treat the audience like a bunch of children;
"who wants to see the lap"? The little scenarios at the end of each episode are just so set up it's cringe-worthy.
Fifth gear of the other hand, is informative, more rlevant to everyday driving and of course, it has VBH! I also think Tom Ford is one of the best new presenters, far better than Clarkson.

TOP GEAR! Always!
Fifth gear is 'the poor man's version' - pittiful presenters - only VBH & Tiff N. are any good, the others are just plonkers!!
Top gear, even though it's really just 'the Jeremey Clarkson show', is funny. It's not about the CARS - it's about car culture.
Fifth Gear TRIES and fails to be a serious motoring journal, TOP GEAR doesn't even try......doesn't have to try...

Top Gear has better presenters and has more humour... I find the Fifth Gear presenters are trying to mimic Top Gear

Top Gear, its hilarious, and I don't even like cars that much but its still entertaining. I've only seen fifth gear once and I know that it was here first but it seems like a cheaper, tackier version.

definitely fifth gear....
top gears so stupid.... trying meaningless stunts on cars which have no significance on the performance, maybe a laugh but definitely not a reliable source to hear which car is better in which way... jeremy is so stupid and big headed....
fifth gear gives a more proffesional review of normal cars - not just ferraris which we cant buy in a million years.

Top Gear.
They have moved on from when Tiff and Vikki left, where as 5th gear are caught in a time warp, and only slowly moving on.
I think the continuous plugs for their premium rate phone in competition cheapens 5th gear too!

Top Gear is your Sunday Times Supplement while Fith Gear is the crappy "Wheels" section in your free local paper - No contest.

Top Gear is far better. It's more humorous, fast moving, with studio audience inter-action. Putting the cars in 'real' situations to see how they perform. Even my Mum who has got to interest in cars will sit down and watch it all the way through.
5th gear is far too technical and slow.
