That would depend greatly on your taste.
Three D wise, I'd say Advent Children by SquareEnix, a sure come back from Spirits Within.
Pop Culture with traditional artwork plus great details would go to Tokyo Godfathers, Wolf's Rain, even Princess Mononoke and Metropolis.
Romantic would be Tsubasa Chronicles the Movie.
Bloody Action Movie would go to Clamp X (no one beats it, believe me)
Action Mahou is definately InuYasha 3 and Rurouni Kenshin Movie Series.

I would like to think that the classics are classics for a reason. I perosnally like the Miyazaki classic "Howl's Moving Castle" because of the animation. The style of Sinchiro Watanabe makes me think it could be "Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on heavens door" of course, for Cowboy Bebop it helps if you are emotionally invested in the characters. It's not my favorite, but im going to go with one of the movies that really pushed the anime craze into America. NINJA SCROLL. That's my opinion

I would say "Spirited Away" because it has lovely animation, as well as a strong story. It is the anime movie that best stands on its own as a movie, and separates itself from more manga bsed anime adaptations.
Oh, and any of the original anime made available in America:
SPEED RACER! (Mifune Go-go)

For movie, to me it will be Howl's moving castle.
I love the music. Especially when in theaters, where the speakers are loud.
The music will go all over my mind. The show itself makes full use of colours to express various climates in the show.
The characters does not really impress me. As the author repeating uses the same technique in his other works.
But the whole story is full of passion, so much passion that you also can feel it.
It is a good show.

I'll vote for Miyazaki's collection.. (Studio Ghibli's )
1) My neighbour Totoro! (Totoro)
Eight-year-old Satsuki and her much younger sister Mei move with their father, an archaeologist at the University of Tokyo, into an old house in the country, in order to be near the hospital where their mother is slowly recovering from illness. One day, left to her own devices while her father is working and Satsuki is at school, Mei chases a rabbit-like creature down a hole (in the manner of Lewis Carroll's Alice). There, she meets a giant woodland spirit called Totoro and spends the afternoon napping in his company. Soon Satsuki is also seeing Totoro and his gentle friends, including a huge, multiple-legged cat that doubles as a bus (with a big Cheshire grin). These new-found neighbours, whether imagined or real, keep the two young girls from growing up too fast in the shadow of their mother's continuing ill health.
-Heart warming, cute and fantasy anime... which anyone would enjoy watching..
