I think it means someone who is currently in their first job and are now looking to progress their career and move into their 2nd job. I don't think it means someone who wants a second job to increase their income. You only have to look at the hours/salaries to see that.

It is a philosophical Q that is why I studied science I once heard: "Humans are the only animals that do not understand that the purpose of life is to Live" In one sense "purpose" is a human concept. yet the fact that we can think it gives it a certain validity Here is an idea to consider, obviously I cannot prove it Life is a fundamental force in the universe like gravity and electrical forces Life emerges and becomes more complex when and if the environment allows try to read "the Phenomenon of Man" by P T deChardin a Roman Catholic priest and anthropologist NOT easy reading but it has some mind expanding ideas

Perhaps that you have already a man job, and you are looking for a second job (therefore you are a second jobber) ? I am not positive, this seems reasonable.

Someone who perhaps has a morning job, looking for a 2nd job in the afternoon or evening.

This means you should already have a job, and you are looking for this to top up your income.

This is often attached to temp jobs for indefinite periods, or when companies are not sure about the logevity (Long term outlook) of this position.
