According to my knowledge of UK prices, this should be possible.

You should be aware of the fact, that you should spend not more than 50% of the amount on a heated accomodation - so perhaps it's just enough to get a fairly small room or a place in a student's house.

If you look around, you might find an appartment that 2 or 3 of you could share.

you could, but you would have to live carefully, defiantly look into shared student accommodation, at least to begin with, it is the most popular way to live for students in this country (and the party's can be wicked!!) there is plenty of part time work....pubs etc....usually anyway.....and you usually get a nicer place to live if you share a house rather than having a bedsit or flatlet which tend to be a little on the scummy side!! good luck!!!
