C U L8er, coz, wot, etc. It really annoys me and makes it really difficult to understand what someone has written. I could understand it's use when texting on a phone was more difficult and there was no predictive text. But as far as I'm concerned, there is no excuse for it on a computer. It's not cool, it's not clever and it looks stupid. Stop it you idiots you are p¡issing me off!, just write English properly. Oh... and learn to spell!

You may not use it on a job application but I bet you have slipped into bad habits and they will show up.

There is nothing wrong with the odd abreviation, we've always had them, but most of them are ridiculous. ur, urself, it's just stupid.

I bet it doesn't save you much time, and I'm sure you'll run into difficulty later in life because of your laziness.

Yes. Texting, fine. Online? Doesn't it take longer?? You have to think about how you can avoid typing two extra letters. It gets even more stupid when people write "lyke" instead of "like" etc. Why bother?

totally agree with you. There is no need for this sort of language on a computer. There is no excuse for bad spelling when a spell check is offered by Yahoo Answers! The other thing that annoys me is some of the grammar. Is it any wonder this country is falling apart!?

Slang and short hand has always been around since folks have learned to write or communicate with symbols. Find something that you can really use your anger for. Use it to change an injustice that you see in the world.

I don't feel as strong as you about it but it is rather annoying. I don't mind the spelling thing that much but the 'text talk' is sometimes very hard to follow.

I hate it too......

apparently, markers for GCSE exams were told not to mark students down for using 'text talk' in their exam papers. WTF!!! How can someone pass an exam if they can't even write properly!
