Although the common perception is different, you are RIGHT. The love creates the need for sex & not vice versa.

It's totally besides the point. I have had sex with a man before (5 years since last relationship with a male), but sex with a woman is much more sensual because there are far more feelings involved. And being G/L is not about the sex, it's about the emotional attachment.

Totally true. The point isn't who you have sex with but who you're attracted to and who you love. Its true sex can be an expression of that love, but its not the only way to express love. Today's society is so focused on sex, that everything we do revolves around it. Sex has nothing to do with drinking soda, but Pepsi and Coke use it everyday to sell us some. If we all stay out of each others bedrooms and look at who we are not who we sleep with the world would be a much better place.

Because the main difference between straight and gay people appears to be the kind of sex we have, people make a big deal out of it. When we love, work, cook, walk, talk, vote, travel, spit, sleep, snore, mow the lawn, pay our taxes, gas up our cars, etc we do it just about the same way straight people do. Its only when we have sex that there's a contrast. So people do tend to make too big a deal out of gay sex.

Well, it is important. You can love someone and not have sex with them and not desire sex with them. But being gay/lesbian is defined by what sex(male/female) you want to have sex with in present society. And problems arise when you fall in love with a person you don't want to have sex with because of their biological sex. Love and sex are somewhat separate. I loved my ex-husband, but sex was out of the question. I'd enjoy sex with Jessica Alba, but love isn't there. BUT I love my girlfriend and sex is awesome. I want to have sex with her to show her love. If she suddenly decided that she didn't want sex with me, I would feel unloved/rejected. Love and sex are connected. A relationship is best when you have both.
