If they can show all these gay and racial couples on TV what harm would a wonderful movie like Song of the South do now days. They are willing to make movies about eveything else and Disney even supports gay and other unmentionalbe things. Is there a way to get a copy of the movie does anyone know?

It is more readily available in England than in the US - some VHS copies only at flea markets & such, but they're going for a couple hundred. You're quite right - with everything out there today, SOS is really harmless in its portrayal of blacks & Southern characters. A tempest in a teapot. That's like the Little Golden Book titled Little Black Sambo - it's no longer available anywhere & was renamed "Sam and the Tigers". The main character in the story wasn't even black, he was Indian (from India, not Native American) ((Sheesh, I get worn out trying to be politically correct)) But that book goes for hundreds now - because of the title. Too many other things we SHOULD be concerned with, not these silly examples of ignorance. Good question.

I know what you are saying. I still don't see how Good Old Uncle Remus could be banned from the U.S. I watched it and honestly there are alot more racial videos out now that blow it away. I really didn't see anything really racial in the video to warrent a ban. Maybe I'm missing it.

I really don't think it a racial thing...they play the song on Splash Mountain. It's just a stupid Disney vault thing. I've been dying to get Bride of Boodegy but the have it "locked away" in the stupid vault. I know you can get it on ebay but they are just illegal copies on dvd.
