I don't think you are crazy. It is true that you cannot buy happiness, if you could a lot of movie stars and rock stars would not be getting high. Being happy to me is most important, because how could you enjoy all the money you are making if you are miserable. It is like finding a vat of gold but you can never spend it. It is torture going to work everyday and hating it and hating yourself, just to get up and do it all over again. There is nothing your paycheck can buy you that makes you feel better about hating 40 hours of your life every single week for 365 days of the year. We spend most of our time at work and that is a lot of hours to be miserable, so good for you for doing something about it. A lot of people wouldn't have the courage to make that decisions. What is best for you is always best. I believe that with all my heart. Life is too short to worry about what others want for your life.

being happy would be nice. I'm glad you're happy with you're new job. too many people work for the wrong thing.
Just a side note: you know it's possible to have only a little money and STILL be unhappy. I'm thinking some people that are really too poor would rather have the money because they aren't happy anyway. But I guess they wouldn't be represented here on yahoo answers anyway. They wouldn't have the leisure time nor the resources.

not crazy at all.
I don't think there's anything wrong with money though. Maybe the question isn't really a choice between money and happiness but rather between what you deemed as successful (making money) and true happiness.

Yes, I will be happy if I make less money with satisfying job, which will keep me happy. In my views money is not everything and doesnt brings peace and happiness in ur life. So, I will advice u to not to change current job, which satisfies u, no matter it has money or not.

You are definitely not crazy. Those highly paid, miserable people are constantly sick and suffering from stress. I love to buy things and I love to have money but money will not buy you happiness. It does not provide continual relaxation. Just imagine living longer and healthier despite what your friends say. Enjoy life. Be content with what you have. Your life will have greater meaning.
I hope the best for you!!

i work in a low paying job but get immense satisfaction.
i sometimes feel bad that i am not earning as much as my other friends who are as capable as i. but i have learnt not to be troubled by that. i love my job. i am able to live within my means.
i am satisfied and happy. i don't cringe when i wake up in the morning. learning a lot at work. very conducive for learning. my supervisor is a great mentor. why would i want to quit this and go somewhere where i enjoy my work?
anyways, this is my opinion...

I would rather be happy!!!
I think being over-stressed in a job just so you can get that extra dough is not worth the sacrifice!!!

happy for how long?
probably what we forget is how dang hard and long one must work, focus, and concentrate in order to have all that money all the time.
I wouldn't mind having more money than I have, but I'm glad I don't have less.

money helps but it doesn't make you happy. And that is what is important. Congradulations on your new job!
