Doesn't ethanol also classify as a hydrocarbon regardless of the oxygen? and hydrocarbons can also have flurocents such as bromine or idodide added right?

So in general hydrocarbons are long chains of carbons.

Ex. CH2 = CH2 - BrCH2

1 - bromo 2 propene.

Correct me if i am wrong anywhere please.
