Of course its wrong. Whats a movie without chain smoking? LOL
Instead of banning the "Smoking Scenes", why not ban the "Mature" scenes?
Kids are smart enough to know that the dude in the movie is smoking. And, it wont help against teenage smoking if thats their purpose. =D

People around the world has started understanding that Smoking is a bad habit and it causes damage to the health. The habit has to be eliminated from the society. For this we need not ban smoking scenes from the movies. Because you can not deny the history. People must know that there was a habit called smoking and it was bad in all respect.

I hate smoking. But I hate censorship more.
Real people smoke, and it annoys other people.
Real people curse, and it annoys other people.
But I don't consider any language as "foul" or "dirty"
Its an expression of an emotion.
I hate when a Chinese kung fu movie is translated into English
and a guy gets kicked in the neck by a guy with knives between his toes, and he falls off of a building and then gets hit by a
dump truck and starts moving his mouth and screaming for like 40 seconds and giving the other guy the bird...
and all the captions say is "oh crap that hurt!"
Real people (over the age of 5) don't run around calling
each other "poopie head" so when I see it in an edited
movie I get pissed.
As much as I hate it, real people smoke.
They should be allowed to look real in a movie.
Popeye ate spinach too... I don't see THAT MANY kids eating it
Just because he did.

Wrong of course. When we get to see so many horrible and disgusting things on screen, why should smoking be banned? It's something millions of people do after all and seeing it doesn't really offend anyone.

Smoking scennes in movies shouldn't be banned, because what difference does it make. You see people in everyday life outside shopping centres, pubs, cafes, train stations, you name it. How would banning it on screen affect us?

i think it's wrong , everyone have power to make their own decision to smoke or not smoke from what they see,(if they think ppl 'll smoke cos they see smoking scenes what about killing scenes, drug dealing scenes etc....) they have right to see it and then it just their personal thinking and decision, and if you think children will copy it so just rate the movies , classify the movies in the age range that can see them

i believe it is a good thing.... i read somewhere about a survey conducted in the US some years ago... a majority of teen smokers started smoking because they wanted to be 'cool'like the Marlboro man..... now maybe kids will want to start smoking so that they can be 'cool' like brad pitt or tom cruise or someone else.... so i think its a good idea to ban smoking in films
