How would you relate this statement to the way you communicate with others?

I think he was a smart dude. I have said some harsh things, and whenever I do (at least to someone I want as a friend) I feel terrible. I think Abe definatly knew what he was talking about and thanks for the quote, Ill remember that.

I sincerely doubt that Lincoln ever said that, as you've stated it. He was a literate person, and he would never use an adjective where an adverb should be.
