Of course, the answer is different for everyone, but I want to share this with you. I hope you won't find this "preachy" but will accept it as "my truth." This is written not to be pushy, but to just say this is what happened to me.

At the absolute worst point in my life, someone came to me and wrote down 3 verses of scripture on a business card. I almost threw it back at him because it seemed like the man was giving me a band-aid for a life-threatening wound. I was miserable and angry with the lot I was dealt, but being desperate, I read those scriptures over and over, and while doing so, read some other ones, too. I read the Romans verses again and again, because they were new to me and somehow things finally made sense.

From that point on, my life totally changed. I can honestly tell you I wasn't happy until I became a Christian. My life isn't perfect, and I am FAR FROM perfection, but I am pleased with my life and all that has happened.

So how could that change my outlook and success in life? Until I accepted God at His word, my suffering, failures--all my problems--it all made no sense; once I understood the "big picture" my perspective totally changed. Once I "got it" I started applying God's Word to my life, instead of what the world told me! And ZAMMO...a new person emerged.

So my answer is that I became happy and successful when I started living a life of faith. It all didn't happen overnight, but it is hard to believe I am the same person who couldn't think of a reason to get up in the morning! All it took was someone urging me to open my heart, and "to seek." It looks as if I was handed more than a band-aid after all!

Happiness comes from within. When confronted with a negative situation, you can train your mind and emotions to not be bothered by it instead of letting it bring you down. Attitude is paramount. A person should not take themselves too seriously. Humor and humility help make the way easier sometimes. I dont know anything about success.

Find what brings you joy..something you love doing and your work will become more meaningful to you. Love a lot, laugh even more, and be receptive to new ideas and concepts. If you take the time to explore yourself as a person from deep within; you will discover a wisdom to guide you in these things. Keep your faith in something greater than yourself...this leads to acceptance that all is as it should be...and will lead you to your purpose in life...through your acceptance of yourself and others.
