Hi

maybe its about power a general saying is knowledge is power. I agree with knowledge is detachment. I think we learn more about things to ultimately learn about ourselves. Maybe the more we learn shows how attached or detached we are. That is like evil I think when people know more than others just to hurt them because of their ignorance. You'd think normal people would know that and be a helping hand for those in those needy times.

The more knowledge we acquire, the more complex the world becomes, and that results in lost innocence. When we are children and don't know much of the world yet, the world seems bright and full of promise. When we become adults and learn the full complexity of life, the world doesn't seem so bright and shiny any more.

But complexity isn't the same as evil. Complexity is just complexity. It has both positives and negatives.

In the 1600s, life was simpler but it was also more brutal (no medicine, short lifespans, widespread war, famine, and disease, slavery, child labor, subjugation of women, dictatorships in every country). Today life is more complex. That means that on the negative side we have bad things like nuclear bombs, but on the positive side the average individual across the world lives a much longer, healther, and freer life than ever before in history.

Actually i believe it's not the knowledge it's how you use that knowledge it's up to you to decide what you want to do with the knowledge you acquire through life, take for example history have taught us what mistakes we as human beings have made it is technically up to us to be ignorant or take heed but as you can clearly see not a lot of us have, and as for evil, i believe that the evil in this world is done by the ppl of this world, you can't tell me that a full grown man would rape a newborn baby because he finds it pleasuring that's just sick that has nothing to do with knowledghe it's the lack of it or a person would kill another person eat them because they think their a mystical creature no, their are some ppl in this world that are simply evil to da bone and if they had the knowledge to know that what they are doing is wrong and actually take heed then we would not be dealing with some seriously sick evil ppl, knowledge is not an excuse to do something bad it's the lack of it that's messing up the minds of ppl, that's my opinion anyway

I don't feel it's directly related to knowledge. But on an indirect level...the more we learn, the more we see the truth. At times the truth is harsh and cruel. If we allow this to make our hearts jaded, we may become mean (evil).

But if we can just focus on the knowledge as a positive experience, regardless of the nature of this knowledge, our hearts can remain open and the evil will dissipate.

Knowledge is power and power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely so is it then best to be absolutely stupid?

Many evils in the world are committed through ignorance, things like genocide are often orchestrated by clever people, using the ignorance of others to further their own agenda.

Clever, knowledgeable doctors and scientists are working to eradicate disease, yet other clever doctors and scientists are inventing new ones to be used as weapons, Go figure, it would seem to me that knowledge in itself is not evil, merely what a person chooses to do with that knowledge.

I completely disagree, humanity, becomes more tolerant of itself with knowledge, certain atrocities which were common place in the past have been eradicated or at least lessened. Of course we will never be all 'good', that is completely unrealistic but on the whole, I think the opposite is true, you gain understanding and empathy for each other, with more knowledge. It is ignorance and fear which lead to evil acts being committed.

Because knowledge is power as everyone knows. Therefore the more you know the more power you behold and theoretically the greater chance you'd have of ruling the world.

Do not be so absolute about this.

It depends on people's characters how they are using their knowledge. There are many wise people, whom we just cannot see because they do not try to project themselves. You concentrate more on the negative side which is not good for you. Try to reveal the positive side...start looking for the Angels!:0)

Because knowledge is power and the more power a person has the easier it is to abuse

Knowledge is only as good or bad as the people who possess it. If it increases a miscreant's capacity for mischief, it also increases a well-intentioned individual's capacity for good works.
