Establish whether or not this condition runs in the family. This will determine whether or not you will be truly successful. If it does run in the family then you must prepare yourself for having minimal success, but still follow the rules below.

Drink massive amounts of water.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep nightly.

Maintain a healthy diet, including many fruits and vegetables.

Don't smoke!

Wash your face twice a day with cool water.

Try taking recently used green tea bags and refrigerating them. When they are cold, relax and place them over your eyes for 5-10 minutes, or as long as you like.

Make sure you remove all eye makeup before going to bed. Simply washing your face is not always enough. With mascara, especially waterproof mascara, you may have to use a special eye makeup remover.

Try to relax the space. You can do this by wetting a Q-tip and then freezing for a little while. Then you should gently wipe under you eyes in the areas where the circles are occurring. When wiping, close your eyes lighting, and try not to flinch.

Just before you go to bed, take a washcloth and wet it just a bit with cold water. Then squeeze out any excess water and place it over your eyes as you sleep.

Buy a special mask to wear during the day that is filled with a gooey substance. They have eye-holes in the middle so you can see with them on.

If all else fails, buy eye makeup that is tinted yellow that will make the dark circles less noticeable.

* Slice a raw Potato, circle the closed eyes gently with these halves. Or else grate a raw Potato and place on Muslin cloth squares. Place these on the eyes and relax for 15-20 minutes.

Yup that's right, get more sleep. Also try to lie down with your eyes closed and put cucumber slices on top of your eye area. Try to stay away from sunlight as overexposure can damage your sking including the eye area. Use a moisturizer that is developed specifically for the eye area as well. However if you think your eye bags are a result of something else like genetics and you really want to get rid of them, you can see a professional on how to get surgery to remove them.

In addition to the other good recommendations, you can soak cotton balls in cold milk and put them on your eyes before you make an appearance. You should also sleep with your head elevated a bit to help water drain downward, instead of staying as bags in your face.

If you always have eye bags because they're genetic and not due to fatigue, you can get them surgically removed.

All you need is some good old fashion rest. Cucumbers can help reduce it too.
