I love to play board games, and so does the rest of my family. We have 4 closets of games! The trick is to go to flea markets, and Goodwill where you can usually find games that are older or kinda odd. Some of our favorites are: Nightmare, Atmosfear, The Movie Game, Scene It, Who What Where, and Zobmondo

One of my family's favorites -- a game I got as a Christmas present a few years ago because it looked really cool on TV -- is called Break the Safe. You're one of up to four burglars whose goal is to move around the board and avoid the guard dog and guard to get four keys. But the keys, as well as two blank spaces and two tunnels, are protected by various booby traps, which the players have to cooperate among themselves to disarm.
The goal of all the players is to get back to the center of the board where the safe is, stick the keys in the safe, turn the lock, and stop the clock. How much time you've got to do this depends on the number of players you have -- 2 players have 15 minutes, 3 have 22, and 4 have 30 minutes.
This is a lot of fun the more players you have, especially since when the guard and dog are awake, you have to move them BEFORE you move yourself. It can get really nail-biting, but it's worth it for an involved game that doesn't take a lot of time to play. You'd like it too.

I still play Scrabble with a couple of friends sometimes. I have played on line and I believe some of my opponents used a computer to cheat; well at least that's what I tell myself after I have my *** handed to me. At the very least when you play in person the have to beat me the old fashioned way.
I work with kids so I play Connect 4 about twice a week. Does that still count as a board game? Anyway I got really competitive with this 10 year old and we spent a evening playing Connect 4 first one to 100 wins takes the title. I ended up losing 69 to 100.
I love Trivial Pursuit until one of my friends took all the cards and memorized the answers, he was unstoppable after that until we got a new edition of questions. I didn't know he had started studying the answers till I lost about a dozen times in a row.
Come to think about it I really shouldn't play board games anymore, I really suck at them.

My husband and I love board games! Cranium is my fav right now, you get to sculpt with clay, draw, hum, do charades, answer trivia, Triopoly is also great, its a different version of monopoly and has 3 playing boards stacked on eachother, the new Pictionary is fun, it's diff than the original, and Scattagories is another good one.

I play at least one night a week. My fav. game at the moment is Caylus, and I've also been playing a lot of Web of Power as of late. If you're really still playing Monopoly you need to check out boardgamegeek.com and learn about some of the new games out there.

Our neighborhood gets together once a month and has board game competitions parents and children all participate. My favorite is RISK... those will often go on into the early morning hours, once or twice it has been continued the next day.

Another vote to check out Board Game Geek. Today's Eurogames blow away the old games that people know the same way that today's computer games blow away old cassettes from Atari.
It's just that new board games don't get the same press that video games do.
