Put equal parts honey and fresh lemon juice in a glass and microwave it for a few seconds to warm, then drink. Also, warm lemon tea or any tea with honey. Suck on Ricola honey throat drops any chance you get in between talking. Also, at night, take a really cold washcloth and wrap it around your neck then cover with something made of wool and pin it on. Wear it all night though it is a little uncomfortable.
I know you dont like gargling with salt water, but drink any drink you can that's salty if you like it...like v8, or virgin bloody mary.
On the weekend, or whenever your days off are, try to go the whole time without talking once and awhile so you can heal...and last, are you able to talk softer at work? That can help.
Good luck!

I usually try to use:
Lemon juice (pure 100% naturally) 1 tablespoofull mix with honey 1 tablespoofull also. Put in to your mouth, and swallow slowly, get a feeling liquid comes throughto your throat. You maybe feel it so sour. But it doesn't be a matter. Take it after meal.
You can also gargle with this mixture with half glass of warm water.
You should take a rest.
Hope you'll recover soon..

agree with honey and lemon, rest your voice and garggle with olive oil 3 times a day.

obviously, you need to rest your voice,... garlging would help, and so would ginger tea/ honey. Also, if you are in office, take a piece of warmed roasted ginger and suck on it, it may taste horrible, but its really useful.
