Without a doubt Bon Scott (1974-1980) lead vocalist with AC/DC had the ideal vocal style needed for belting out rock. He must of gargled with vinegar and a bag of nails daily to get that sound! But I'd have to say Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin is the Roll's Royce of rock vocals.

Depends what the music requires, Rocks most versatile voice I would probably say Freddie Mercury (R.I.P.) or Bruce Dickinson, both have the range of I don't know. Axl Rose also comes very close.
Corey Taylor (Slipknot) is the best in his style whilst Kurt Cobain (R.I.P.) and Eddie Vedder are both very skilled in their area.
Brian Johnson and Bon Scott (R.I.P.) are perfect for their music...
As I said at the beginning it all depends on the style!! AND there are SOO many styles
My personal favourite has to either Bruce Dickinson or Axl Rose as both have fantastic ranges and voices

Without a doubt it has to be Paul Rodgers, formerly of Free, Bad Company and more recently, Queen. He still has the rock star good looks to go with it and he is ultra brilliant live, not to mention owning an unbelievably fantastic voice.

In the rock genre, without a doubt, Freddie Mercury. For soul, Stevie Wonder, and pop, Michael Jackson.

well i'd have to go with Kurt Cobain (nirvana) or Jim Morrison (the doors). the best rock music vocalists are the ones with the most unique sound and lyrical visions.
