Rosicky was by far the best "buy" so far. Hard playing offensive midfielder who will be able to compliment Fabregas very well. Wish very much that Bayern would have nabbed him.
Best signing? Michael Ballack without a doubt (can't count as a "buy" because Chelsea paid nothing for him). Free transfer for one of the best players in the world?? Can't go wrong. Kind of ironic how they've made so many big money transfers in the past couple of years, but manage to get the second best offensive midfielder in the world (only behind ronaldinho) for free. And as for Lampard and Ballack playing together, it won't happen for long. Guarantee that one of them leaves within two years. They'll both refuse to play the wing, and Mourniho will not play without Makalele. They'll alternate playing time and one will leave.

I think the best transfer this season would be for Fergie to retire from the helm of Man Utd.
Other than that, I think the signings that Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea made so far are very exciting and should up their level of play a few notches at the very least, especially Tomas Rosicky to Arsenal.

Duff to Newcastle is by far the best one so far.....They were too top heavy w/ Lennon on the Right wing and Defoe up top on the right (most of the time)....they needed someone to fill in the left wing hole....One could argue that Ballack to Chelsea is huge as well, but personally, I am very skeptical over that move primarely b/c I think Ballack and Lampard will cancel each other out....they are both simular in the way they play the midfield role....and just as Lampard and Gerrard canceled each other out for England b/c of their simularities....so will Lampard and Ballack for Chelsea...I could be wrong, but we'll see...the jury still out for me :)

it'll be a head on head between Tomas Rosicky and Michael Ballack. and it gets better, Ballack's in Chelsea plays against Arsenal - GK's his national teammate -Jens Lehmann and Tomas Rosicky's in a same team again, before was Borussia Dortmund - who i think was another title battle between Bayern Munich & Borussia Dortmund back in the Bundesliga. now it's the EPL, it's gonna be an intresting matches eh?
Cheers!

How are chelseas signings the best? £30m pound for a 30yr old striker who wont be able to hack the premiership. bellamy is a good signing but not the best although he look very sharp. im a liverpool fan but ive got to say damien duff to newcastle for £5m. thats 12m less than chelski paid 3 years ago.

Shevchenko is the best player coming in. Rosicky was the best bargain.
Emile Heskey was the worst.

i think bellamys switch to liverpool from blackburn has been a good deal, especially seen as he is looking very fit in pre-season matches.
