Three week old chicken **** works the best.

The best way is to do it in a friendly way as if you are his best mate. Sort of like.
Look I know your not aware but I can smell your body odour.
It doesn't sound nice but what does when your telling someone they stink.
If the person is fairly quick on the up take you could just say.
Whats the funny smell around here and hope he gets the message.
If you dont feel at all comfortable approaching him with the porblem tell your HR department they will deal with it. The only problem with this is that he may feel bad that you didn't approach him first.

Forget 'tactfull' but be nice. Ask to speak in private, say you feel a bit awkward but you realise he probably isn't aware that he has a problem with body odour. Mitchum deodrant is a good one to recommend, lasts 2 days!!
Good luck, it's a horrible thing to have to do but ....

It depends on his personality or emotional make-up. If you know his character and the kind of person he is, then you would know the best approach in telling him, he has a bad body odour that needs taking care off.
Some persons have natural odours, this deep especially on the type of meals they have and the state of their personal hygiene. And all this should be told to him depending on the type of person he is.

Send a memo saying that there's a meeting for everyone in the conference room, then send a memo at the last minute to everyone else but him saying it's cancelled, when he gets in there and sits down, first he will notice the white board that says "You stink" then he will notice that he's the only one in the meeting.

I'd suggest gift wrapping a fresh turd for him with a note advising him that people have had a whip round in order to buy him an air freshener.

ask him what he thinks of people with bad body odour, and when he tells you its gross, then feel free to tell him he smells that way too. He cant say much if he's already told you how HE feels about bad smells.

Walk past and spritz him with aftershave..... lol.... in all seriousness though... have a private chat with him, one on one.... he might appreciate the gesture, as he may not be able to smell it.... don't be nasty though.
I had to do this with a girl in our office, she was mortified, but so grateful for having this brought to her attention and she sorted it out straight away....

If you don't feel comfortable pulling him aside and saying something, perhaps try to make references to others and how they were able to cure the same problems and hope that he catches on in a subtle way.

Buy yourself a gas mask and anytime he comes near you put it on making sure he sees you. If that does not send the message then he needs psychiatric help.
