I dropped a nickel in my commode once, so I emptied a pocket full of change in it and started digging it out. My wife came in and said "What the heck are you doing?". I said "I aint gonna stick my hand in there just for a nickel!"

Unless it is part of an unmatchable bathroom suite, I should buy a new loo - they are not very expensive.
You will spend too much time and energy on this and probably never get it the way you want it

remove the water from the loo using a sponge, try again with the bleach or aven an abrasive cream like vim or ajax

Try a pumice stone, you can find it in the store in the laundry section. They are good for difficult iron stains, etc in toilet, tile, etc.
