Yes! Philippines is part of Asia (Asia ends roughly with East Timor). If by "Pacific Islanders" you mean Polinesian, Melanesian, Micronesian, then I will tell you that:
a) there is a big language family called "Austronesian". The groups thereof are:Malay, Indonesian (containing Javanese, Balinese and others), Filipino and Polinesian. Melanesian &Micronesian are separate.
So:linguistically Filipinos are remotely related to Polinesians; racially less so. Most Filipinos originally migrated from the continent, but adopted the Austronesian languages of the indigenous populations (whose remnants are the Aeta people)

While the islands are part of Asia, the natives probably migrated there from other regions...These peoples came from many different areas and while no exact locality can be determined, it is thought that Polynesia, Indonesia and perhaps Japan were some of the first, later augmented by Chinese, and still later by Spanish and other races. Geographically the islands are tied in by the volcanic rim of the area to places such as Japan and dead volcanoes of Southern China. But your question is not precise enough for a complete answer. Are you asking whether the Phillipines are part of Asia or are you asking the origins of the people. Marcos et al. tried to establish the Tasadays as a stone-age people that was later proved to be a fraud. The origins of man are somewhere in Africa or the Middle East and spread from those areas.

There are 7 continents: N. America, S. America, Europe, Africa, Antartica, Australia, & Asia. The Pacific islands are for the most part grouped w/ Asia, except of course the Hawaiis. Pacific Islanders is a term for the most part used to define race.
