So are you talking of present tense? If you have asked this question then probably the incident is over and as well as you might be the one who could answer because you know it. And if the incident is not over then you should correct the grammar in your question. Also you did not mention whose door was knocked. Hence, this question is absolutely confusing and ridiculous.
