You need to practice following these steps in order to resist peer pressure:
1. Look at the person.
2. Use a calm voice.
3. Say clearly that you do not want to participate.
4. Suggest something else to do (for ex. something healthy, harmless... a better alternative)
5. If necessary, continue to say "no".
6. If necessary, walk away and ignore them.
Sweetie, the best thing to do is "prevention", do not hang out with people that are not benefitial to your physical and mental wellness. Most of the time it is a matter of maturity. Be confident in you!

Know what you want to do before the situation comes up. Like if someone wants you to do drugs, think of a way to say no without acting ashamed.
I used to say " No, thanks. I don't do that. "
If they questioned me, I would ask them "Why should I? "
or "No reason. I just don't. " You can tell them you want to keep your body healthy for playing sports or being high gives you a headache, but they might make fun of you for that, so be ready .
You have nothing to be ashamed of, so do what you think is right.
Don't let anyone tell you what to do except your parents, if you're under 18.
You have to live your own life. No one else can decide for you.
Be sure of yourself when you refuse to do something others want you to.
Confidence is powerful. You might find that some of your friends say NO to peer pressure, too, just because you did it first. Be strong and stand your ground. Good luck. : )

Remind yourself that the people you are with at this point in your life will be forgotten in a couple of years but the mistakes that you make could live with you forever.
And, speaking from experience, when you go back to some school reunion you'll find that the kids who gave in to the pressure seem to be the most pathetic later on.

If it is drugs, let them know that you dont want to do anything illegal, that you have bad luck sometimes. If it is alcohol say youre not putting nothing in your body that makes you pee more than 3 times a day. If it is sex say, heck no, I'm not getting AIDS
And if it's anything else simply reply, if it aint legal dont bother to ask.

I think the best way is to just ignore it. Come on, just do it. It will be fun. Seriously what have you got to worry about? Nothing! It's totally safe to ignore it. Just do it. If you don't you won't be cool. So will you do it? I think you will like it. Do it for me. Just this one time and if you don't like it you don't have to do it again.

First off, it takes confidence. Don't fold to what others want you to do. Be a leader, not a follower. You have to have more of an "I don't care what you think" attitude.
