you can't. it is on your neighbor's property and belongs to them.

you can legally prune any branches that extend over the fence line into your property.

if you do anything to intentionally harm the tree, then you may be liable to your neighbor for damages.

Just take a valium and don't be a bad neighbor. What's a bit of leaf raking compared to some stupid dispute over a tree. If all the trees were gone from your neighborhood would that not be depressing?

Don't do anything illegal but you are allowed to cut off anything that hangs over your fence. You might want to talk to your neighbor about it first to let him know there is a problem and that you want to cut those branches off. As this may cause they tree to look lopsided or ugly he may offer to have it evenly trimmed and save you the work. If not, happy sawing!

You can't.It's not your property.Rake up the leaves and compost them for Your garden. If it causing trouble for the fence itself you need to talk to your neighbour and Local Authorities.As for the morons who suggested killing it...I wonder who the finger is going to be pointed at..got some spare cash..to pay the Fines...

drill some holes around the base of it and pore poision in the holes the tree should die and they will have to cut it down

Think positively, those leaves will make wonderful mulch for your garden.....

Anyway, raking them up is good excercise.....

talk with the owner and ask to cut it down. or talk to the state or municipality
