Growth does not threaten, actions do.
Rest assured that nations like Russia and the U.S. watch closely and make sure the balance of power does not shift too much in favor of China. Deterrence is what won the cold war, and in this new type of economic war, "acceptance" into world trade organizations similar to NATO will be the ultimate factor that brings down communism in China.

Threaten? I guess if you look at economic expansion and growth as a competition then yes their current growth does threaten other nations.
Currently, the only thing holding China back from becoming the most powerful economy in the world is not being able to fullfil their need for oil. That is where Russia comes into play with them and why they are backing Iran right now... wanting us to get off Iran's back.
Once they make the oil deals they need to make, they will surpass us, the USA, in economic growth and become a global superpower.

Yes. Bottom line China's doctrine is expansion and their thirst for power is frightening. Here are some of the things they have done lately,
Export Mao militias as terrorists to destabilize governments and spread communism.
Torture and use the falan gung practitioners for body parts to sell.
China is the biggest suppliar of weapons to North Korea, Iran and Russia.
They give large amounts of money to poorer countries as an incentive to align themselves with the intentions of the Chinese government.
They fund terrorists.
When the United States pledged to defend Taiwan against China, China threatend to use Nuclear weapons against the U.S.
