as long as it wasn't you walking out. If the company is insolvent and you were employed by the company (as opposed to just being a director) then you can get it

Now this might shock you..... but how about just getting a bloody job.... have you no pride??????????????????

I would clean toilets before I faced the humiliation of going to the government with the other losers for a hand out, but then I was raised in a family with a strong work ethic that taught me you have to work hard for what you want....

That's the problem with the UK these days... a bloody huge work-shy culture... well I got news for you sonny.... .England does not owe you a living.

Yes, depending on your circumstances you may get income support, or it could be job seekers allowance.
Sorry to hear that you are insolvent, tomorrow is another day.
Good luck.

unfortunately, when you post a question like this you open yourself to abuse form idiots. unemployment insurance is an insurance policy. it's like if your house burns down and you file a claim against your home owners policy, but most people don't get that. if you paid into the system, you may be eligible. in NJ, they look at if you sold your business at a loss or a profit. also, you have to file for dissolution of the business.

Yes you can.

You need to show evidence of NI and Income Tax payments. When I ended my last contract, I wrote out my own P45 and claimed Job Seekers Allowance.

Knowing the devious minds of the DSS I probably think they'd say you made yourself unemployed so don't qualify! Good luck.
