With only that information, you need to find one other measurement to find the other ( I assume the room is rectangular). Otherwise, you could have a room that's 5'x100', 4'x125', etc.

If you have the money, the DPS-12 or the MiniVie should be enough to meet your criteria in your medium-to-large room. Although the MiniVie is quite a bit smaller. My idea choice for a small powered subwoofer system for your criteria is the Sunfire Solitaire 10. It's puts out loud, deep, clean bass down to 18Hz (-3dB) and is virtually an 11" cube. Or, if you want something even smaller(!?!), their True Subwoofer Super Junior that goes down to 22Hz and only measures 9"x9"x9". My least expensive ideal choice that is superior to the Velodyne DPS-12 in a similar size is the Hsu Research VTF-3 MK 2 (with my second choice in this category being the STF-2). Happy listening!

Not possible to calculate length and breadth given this information. However, if you assume the room is square, then simply take the square root of 500, i.e. 22.36

to get the values l and b, we need two equations that has variables only l and b..

your question seems to be incomplete as there can be many values of l and b that make up area as 500 sq. ft

l = 125 b = 4
l = 4 b = 125
l = 10 b = 50
b = 50 l = 10
....

Any 2 factors with product= 500 will do. XY=500. For any x you'll have a different Y.

If the room were square, the sides will be roughly 22.5 feet. If the room is rectangular, use your judgement to figure out how different are the length and width from 22.5 feet.

There is insufficient information given.

However, if the room was square in shape, then take the square root of the given value and take the positive value of the answer.

well that is not sufficient info the area is merely the product of the length and breadth thus it could be 100ft x 5ft or it could be 50ft x10ft and so on

There are an infinite number of answers. Since A = L * W

And you know A, then you can use anything for L or W.
