I read in some Islamic books that women posses 7 different emotions and 1 part logical thought. That's why we are seen to be more emotional. That is why women are given the gift of bearing children. We are more sensitive to feelings.
Men on the other hand posses 7 types of logical thought and 1 type of emotion. If a woman can nurture her 1 logical thought, it will overcome all her 7 emotions. If a man allow his one emotion to control him, he will lose control of all 7 parts of the brain.
If you read Allan and Barbara Pease's book (I'm not sure whether it's the 1st or 2nd one), or Man are from Mars Women are from Venus, it was illustrated that a man's brain is compartmentalised and can only function one compartment at a time. Women has one compartment in their brain and therefore able to see many different things at the same time. Multi tasking is a woman's thing.
Our differences is in our genetic makeup. Just like why a woman's body is different from a man's. What happens during nurture is in my para 1. There will never be a time where women will automatically think like a man or a man automatically think like a woman. We are simply different. Body, mind and soul.

It's not just mean and women who think differently but no two people think alike.
Women and men are different and think differently in many ways like;
Sex , relationships, family values, colours (females see colours more accurately than males) , spacial awareness (women are not so spatially aware as men there own "space" is very limited) , priorities, friendship, sport, health issues, loyalties, revenge, driving and much, much more.
Just stop and contemplate the things I have listed compare what men think and then what women think.

There's a reason for that; we see the world from two completely different angles. The problem is that the communication often doesn't connect the dots. If we can communicate to each other what we each feel and see, the other can understand the world better by seeing it from an angle that they wouldn't otherwise. Think of it like 3D verses trying to see the world with one eye.

Much of the difference between the sexes can be attributed to their genetic make-up and to the hormones which make up who they are. In addition to this, they were both raised differently (boys, for example, are usually not allowed to play with barbies while girls are not allowed to play rough).
Looking at all those factors, it's a wonder our instinct to be in a relationship with the opposite sex can overwhelm all of them!

There is an underlying "sameness" that is basic to all of...with many shared human characteristics. We are raised differently as children; with a different set of standards, applied to us based on our gender. This represents our environmental influences. Then there are the biological aspects to gender preferences based on survival...and it possesses an undeniable physical dimension to the equation. We are wired differently. These things combine to form our emotional landscape...and it is in this area the sharper differences manifest themselves.
Many men perceive things in more concrete terms; while women often perceive the nuance and complexity of most human emotion. I have discovered that men feel things very deeply; but often lack the verbal ability to express them. They often must be alone in their thoughts or feelings in order for their brain to process it. Women are much quicker to comprehend their own thought and emotional processes...but often have difficulty applying a more standard or concrete objective to them. Many times, we are speaking of the same things but become divided in our expression of them, through our different communication styles.

men and women are treated differently from birth .... dress a newborn in pink and the baby will be given dolls etc to play with ... dress the baby in blue he will recieve ball etc to play with
also women are taught by their mothers and other females to express waht they are feeling through words ..... men on the other hand are taught that crying is a sign of weakness and to take out your anger by hitting / shooting something (sports in general and hunting)
basically youre asking the same questoin as why do cats and dogs act differently ... sorry but its true

not only men and women think differently but everyone in the world. This is because of our different conceptions and misconceptions about life and also due to our different environments, religions etc

men and women are "wired" differently.
i recently read an article that claims we even process information in different parts of our brain.
we're raised to perceive things differently...some of us even receive "gender indoctrination" very early...
You can't play with Barbies...thats a girls toy.
You can't have a football helmet thats a boys toy.
Kids often don't get to have friends of the opposite sex come over for birthday parties, sleep overs, or for play dates.
Even worse..."You can't have the pink Barbie glass thats for girls...!" So the little boy gets the Batman glass instead.
Can't be feminine pink...you'll have to be the Superhero, bullet proof, square jawed, crime fighter blue.

I like to use the primative man analogy.
primative man...
Job: hunter / gatherer - see food source, kill it, bring it home to feed family.
(explains why men hate shopping)
See hot primative female, who makes eyes at primative man, mount because it feels good and brings babies.
(explains why men can't keep their eyeballs in their head when a woman with sizeable hips passes)
occupational hazard: sometimes get killed by food source.
primative woman...
Job: family maker/tender - make babies...keep babies...feed babies...make crops with girlfrieds
(why girls are very sociable and cliquey)
...feed crops...harvest crops to feed family.
(explains why she always wants extra money to go shopping - the old..."I have to buy food and put it on the table" excuse...even though she returns with a Louie Vitton clutch ...that was "half off for God's sake - chill!")
occupational hazard: once a month get wild urge to be with primative man
the difference...
if you don't want pee on the seat....don't scream at me to keep the seat down.
You're a big girl...you need the seat down...figure it out.

In general, everyone views things differently. But men and women are cultured in their own gender roles... which shape their general thinking. I guess that's why they view things differently.
