Hel's stories were twisted by the Christian monks who wrote down the old tales. I don't really know about the Norse, but the Germanic version of Hel is Holde. Holde is also the same as the Nordic Frigga, and is the wife of Odin. She is, at once, an Underworld and a Heavenly Diety. Her Underworld realm of Neiffleheim is not so bad, unless you are a traitor, oath-breaker, or child abuser. Those who are like that are in a special part of Neiffleheim where they are tormented. Other than that, hanging with the Weaver as She tends to the roots of the World Tree isn't so bad. Like the King of Winter, Her husband, She rides on the Wild Hunt.
The Greek Underworld wasn't horrible. Everyone went there. Rich, poor, good, bad, devout, blasphemer. It's alot like the spiritist view. All the dead go to the same place. I don't know much about Hades, but He sounds like an administrator of some sort. This Underworld was more lethargic and numbing as opposed to painful. Being dead could be an unstimulating prospect.
I know even less about the Egyptian Underworld. I thought that a black dragon God ruled there and one of the Gods, a Lord of Wisdom, helped Him to weigh the souls of the dead to judge them. I guess the 'good' would fair better than the 'bad'.
The Christian Hell is the worst Underworld by far. Eternal torment with no end. No chance for reincarnation, no negotiating your way out of it, just unending torture.
Who would win between the various Underworld Dieties? The non-Christian Gods have more versatility and could out manuever Lucifer, doing things He wouldn't think of trying. Hel and Osiris perform more functions than Hades. It would be a tie between Hel and Osiris.

RE:
Whos the Most Evil Ruler of the Underworld? Hades (greek), Hel (norse), Osiris (egyptian), Lucifer (satanism)?
That is right Evil vs Evil vs Evil vs Evil. Who though was the worst? Place your bets and we will see who is the Ruler of the Underworld and who would win. Give me details.

Lookye and learn and by learning, grow:
First: Osiris was the god of rebirth, not the underworld. The god of the underworld was Set/Seth/Settesh.
Second: Hades, Pluto, Hel, Set and all their brother and sister underworld rulers were not "Evil" - they had an important and unpleasant job and they did it. Hades was the equal brother of Zeus the King, for instance, and frequently lipped off to his bro, telling him "Not just no, but Hell no!" (heh). And Hel was able to refuse Odin and hold on to Balder despite Odin's anger ... but that was because she was within her rights under her "job description" as ruler of the land of the dead.
No, it took the Christers to make the underworld ruler "Evil" and their great invention was a "bad place" that was totally separate (up from down!) from their "heaven." Most religions prior to that had a "land of the dead" and there were nicer parts and less nice parts, but it was pretty much all "Land o'Death" - only the Gods got the really nice digs in Olympus/the Sky/the Other Realm. Lucifer was the first "evil" ruler of the afterlife (BTW, he got the non-Christians and bad Christians exclusively, so he had a 95% of the human race in his charge).
As to who would win in a Comic Book Brawl - Probably Hades. Hades was the brother of the chief god and an equal partner in the rulership of the unverse (Zeus got the sky and Poseidon the sea). Set was a partner with his fellow Egyptian pantheon, but his realm was more limited. Hel was more of a spooky administrator, and anyone who could fight went to Valhalla (in Aesgaard) anyway. And Lucifer was just a fallen angel with delusions of grandeur, though he had a large realm.
So, in a Donnybrook, I'll take Hades and give you points.

First of all I don't think Hades, Hel or Osiris were evil. They ruled the underworld where the dead went. Not all dead are evil. It was like their God-jobs. Bealzebub(Lucifer) is the only truly evil ruler among them. He earned his post by getting thrown from heaven. He is the one who tries to tempt us and lure us to his cause. The other gods judge who goes where. Either the dark pit or the allusian fields(greek). Bealzebub doesn't do this. Thats not his thing. And he would kick their butts.

Hey there,
With all my research, I cannot say one of them for the simple reason, when one comes to the understanding of these differant kinds of Gods, one will see that almost all religions are based upon some sort of hell and the god that rules it. I believe that they are of the same energy for the simple fact that they are of supposed "Evil" and I can assure you if these were individuals, they would have fought for all eternity cause they are in need of their own place to rule and you cannot have to many Chiefs amoungst the workers.
So my point I am trying to make is that they are one energy with differant names.
Look into their history and they all come from the same time date and distinct part of the main "holy" source.
Cast out and started to rebel against the creation of the most high.
So I hope I am right, but this is my opinion.
Kind Regards

i think it's a tie between hades and lucifer.hel,i havent read anything of,and osiris became one of the gods of the underworld, but he's a caring, sweet person so he's not exactly evil.hades on the otherhand is wickedly cold and cruel, the only time he did something good was when his wife persephone was moved by a musician's lyre to free his wife.but that was the ONLY time.lucifer is cruel and wicked,he wants to lead every soul into the depts of hell.so...i think it's a tie between them.

Depends on your own religious beliefs.
not all the rulers of the hells are evil. they just rule over the souls of those who transgressed the laws of their god.
Hel is the sister of Odin and was called before him more than once to answer questions and help Odin judge a soul. She didn't always like the role assigned to her.

Well, considering that they are all rulers of the same realm,( the underworld), they would all have to be equally evil, just in different ways. But maybe evil is not quite the right word, maybe they are just feared because humans fear death. Especially if they themselves, were not so nice.

I have no idea where you got that Osiris aka Wesir is evil. LOL. You really need to check into stuff like that before you post it. Wesir is kind of like the angel that supposedly sits at the gate of heaven to escort people inside. There is nothing evil about Wesir.

Oh cmon are you kidding me. Obviously Hel is the worst. He probes people's penises with sharp heated metal instruments such as knives for eternity over and over again, among other things like ripping apart their intnestines and hanging them with their own intestines and choking them with their own feces and worms.
Among other things he likes to strap people onto rocks and roll them around on sharp heated metal surfaces.
It's hands down Hel wins, Satan is no worse than inquisition leaders, Hel is almost as bad as I am!
