People wonder about purpose often. I like this particular explanation.

Raindrops
When it rains in Canada, most raindrops originate in the Pacific Ocean and come east. When they get to the great divide, some will fall on the west and be sent back to the Pacific, some pass over and go on to the Atlantic / Arctic oceans. What makes the decision for each raindrop? The mountain makes the decision, and the mountain does not care. We may see a purpose in things, but most of nature's decisions are just made, and we imagine reasons.
If there is no order reason or guiding force then how does the perfect balance of nature stay maintained?
Simply put, it does not stay maintained at all. We live in an ever-changing dynamic universe. There is no perfect balance. It is just such a large universe with comparably small changes that we see our tiny part as stable.

Most of nature's decisions are just made, and we imagine reasons.

so.. you see there is no god, and we decide our own purpose.

This is a tough one. It's one of the things I intend to ask God about- the next time I see Him. Certainly He must've had a plan...- but He didn't tell ME about it! And what was the big idea about allowing all this pain, war & unhappiness to be spread all over the world, hah?! All I seem to be able to do- is try not to contribute to it!!! -Anything more, & I'm at a loss. So I'll make you a deal; which ever one of us gets to see Him first- asks Him these questions, - then sends the Answers back HERE- so we can ALL share in what the meaning of life is. OK?

To live forever and be fruitful. Beyond that, a lot can happen that we could never conceive of because of our limited intelligence. As perfect human beings, we would be using a minimum of 20X our current level of processing data. We likely would have developed telepathy, as well as the ability to teleport to other planets, in other galaxies, since this planet and Solar System could only hold so many people. This planet, and every planet, would be a Paradise, that we would create as we settled on each. We would know the animals of the deep, and likely created new species adaptable to the other planets. We wouldn't have the power of the angels, but pretty close to their intelligence.

If Adam had turn Eve down, that would have been our way of life, but he screwed up. But, apparently it is going to happen again, because Jesus talked about people having everlasting life, which only happens to humans. Spiritual beings have immortal life, being only God can destroy them. With everlasting life, you can still die from severe injury, as happened with Jesus. While on Earth, he could have live forever, had he not been killed, but since being resurrected, he's immortal.

According to Islamic beliefs as Taught to us in the Qur'an, The sole purpose of our existance is to "worship" our Creator. The Islamic concept of worship is not limited to prayer, but rather all acts, intentions, words etc which are pleasing to God even if it means just smiling at your brother or providing a small morsel of food for someone who is hungry or supporting ones family can be an act of worship if done in the correct manner. In fact even sleep if done with the right intention is worship. If I got to bed at night with the intention of resting my body to be able to do more good the next day, I thank my creator for my blessings and ask forgiveness for my shortcomings etc ... then the sleep which follows is an act of worship contrasted to someone who drinks or drugs him/herself into into paralyses and then just happens to fall asleep in the process.
