As you said about the work and satisfaction the inner peace is a stage at the present moment. Next moment, if you keep your inner growth, can reach a stage of better peace.

There are few who run for the ultimate peace. The stage can be explained like:

You don't rejoice over gaining the needs
You don't regret over loosing the chance
Neither there is hatred nor lust
The serene stage of the mind like a deep sea.
Deeper the sea - waves are weaker

You can be better tomorrow - not even tomorrow, next moment. That is the growth.

I do believe that inner peace can only be attained when you no longer crave for anything else. Inner peace is also achieved when you know you haven't aggrieved anyone in your entire life or when you made peace with everyone else. In the end, it all boils down to you.

You ask about inner peace with a name like that?
Doctor Love would know what inner peace is ;)

Satisfaction isn't just a momentary thing at all, it is a feeling that continues with what we do and how we live, how we think and how we treat people, it's love but all love combined

The inner peace that can be named or described cannot be called inner peace... - paraphrased from Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching"

As long as you feel it and it does you good and also other people...then that's a nameless but definitely perfect inner peace. Peace.

you are talking of natural habit of a human or say human tendency in the second part of your question. but the first part which relates to internal peace is a simple one which gives you permanent joy and is not of temporary in nature you may also call that as an eternal bliss which is part of inner peace
