I like math puzzles, but I find sudoku to be a terribly boring game. Not much fun at all.

I can't really say why but personnaly I've never been hooked like this with a puzzle. Usually it's just fun for 3 minuts mayben... but I can do many Sudoku in a row, time or fatigue will only stop me :-) I even have a hard time finding enough hard ones to be interesting.

I guess it calls some functions in your brain that stimulates you more or less. Some people can do it and will love it, other won't stand it and can't even understand the problem. Just like I can't do crosswords..it's just to hard for me.
It's just depends on how your brain is made.

it's the same thing with games like chess. you can or you can't.

Sudoku is just new in western countries so it's also a matter of fashion.

It's addictive. Some of us can't get enough of it. There is some weird sense of satisfaction finding a number, let alone solving the puzzle. "One more puzzle can't hurt." Then, we have to get the newest versions. I've seen all kinds of variants, such as circle sudoku, computer versions, samurai, letters, other sizes, etc. We gotta buy them all, because we're hopelessly addicted. At least it's a good addiction!
