What about:
-the strenghtening of the Russian Empire and their ambition regarding an open gate for the Black Sea;
-the nationalisms which spread all over the Balkans;
-the colonial wishes of Great Britain, France and Russia about the Middle East regions;
-the essential ethnical, religious and political diversity of the Ottoman Empire;
-and the deep internal corruption and paralyse of the Ottoman political system.

Well, the Ottoman Empire had been in decline prior to 1800 (really going back to the early 1700s). The simple answer is that the Ottomans fell victim to their own poor leaders (Sultans and Grand Viziers). They simply failed to keep up with technological, political, and social advances of the times while the other powers of Europe took advantage of these and pursued their ambitions with vigor.
I guess my feeling is that the Ottoman Empire (like so many other empires) was made for conquest and expansion. When they had reached the limits of conquest, they sort of 'ran out of gas'. Without new lands to push into, without peoples to spread their faith to the Ottomans seemingly had no real purpose.
