Well first of all, not all "fat" people overeat. Alot of people mistake a larger or plus sized person for nothing more than a glutton, a food lover. There are several physical conditions with a person that can give them a seriously low metabolism or thyroid and problems with endocrinology. I have struggled with this most of my teenage and adult life, and doctors can never get my hormones straight. Do I exercise? YES. I drink plenty of water, and sometimes eat barely a meal a day. And there are "camps" for people with weight problems, and there are support groups and facilities that are similar to a rehab for these people as well...

There is a program called Over Eaters Anonymous but a person has to ask a church or other organizations where it might be found. There is also camps that help over weight people but cost a lot of money.
By the way, Being fat doesn't necessarily mean the person is an over eater. Some people have health problems that cause them to be over weight . And being fat isn't funny. It is very hard to lose weight for most people.

Well firstly there is an "Over Eaters Anonymous" as evidenced by many "celebrites" who have openly admimtted to having "food issues" and how OEA saved them...
Secondly there are "Fat camps" which is in essence a place where overweight people can receive counselling and can learn how to maintain a healty lifestyle...
However there are many reasons why people are fat and "chucking" them into a fat camp or putting them in over-eaters anonymous is not the answer..
Education from early on, especially within the school years is essential if people are to learn how to manage their weight and their food...
More Understanding is also required.... I am sure that being fat is not fun in an overly obsessed world of skinny people...
Eat Right and Be Right....

no people that tend to over eat have a problem that they can fix themselves. people in rehab have usually come off and addiction in which their body tends to crave it and must have it. so. over eaters have a mental not physical problem that could be corrected with out the the need of medical assistance. a good question for discussion and glad to be apart of it. Peace Out

Yes...
but there needs to a sense of accountability...
like an introduction where people are told:
"YOU do not have an inherited glandular problem that has caused you to be fat...you have learned to eat...and your over eating has created a serious glandular problem. Today you stop making excuses for yourself - and you begin to live right."

Well, as it happens, there IS an organization called "Overeaters Anonymous". ..And there is Weight watchers, Jenny Craig and dozens of diet groups that teach skills to control weight. (rehab?)
Just give them a call and they can help you.

I don't see why they don't already have a place like this. They have programs for a lot of other bad habits. Maybe you should create one.
