I have watched children at the playground and they never seem to have troubles with skin color, at what stage in our lives does the color of a persons skin become something we are aware of and when does it make a difference? For me I grew up in a very ethnic rich environment, and race was not a real big factor.

I too, have watched children playing with one another and had that same profound thought: they do not care what color the skin of their friends are, they just want to have fun. Racism, it seems is a learned trait, so it doesn't come with age, for some never are burdened with it at any age. And unfortunately the antithesis is true also, and some are burdened with it way too young by thoughtless adults who should know better. One thing for sure, we all bleed the same color. All nations of one blood!

Racism chooses no age. You're lucky if you never experienced it. Actually, racism does not only apply to the color of your skin. Sometimes it also happens within your community. Racism already began a long, long time ago has it not?

Others say it's just the culture but you see, that's also one factor. We come from different places, different races and whether you're aware or not, racism is always present where ever you are. Maybe it's not that obvious but you'll soon discover what I'm trying to say.

it all depends on the parents. If they never raise the race issue then even a tot will not pick up anything. It is highly likely that he/she will pick it up from a little tot in school. If the parents constantly hammer at blacks or Jews or Muslims and use very bad words describing these people it will eventually rub off on the kids even when they are only 3. Options about race and many other factors generally originate with the parents and the kids merely pick them up and repeat them. Yes, the child can be as young as 3.

RACISM begins when we start to think of life as a RACE, where you have to be one up in order to survive lest you will be killed or trampled. In such hostile mindset, the only way we can find one-upmanship easy to conquer is colour of our skin, because that is taken and cannot be changed.
So the white hate the black and vice versa because both are scared of each other or getting hurt or trampled and think that if they cannot look down upon another, they are not good enough by themselves, while it is just a sign of low self-esteem as a race, when you base your superiority or inferiority on the colour of your skin.

But when we think of ourselves as a human race, does it all really matter? And that when we die and this outer shell of ours called the human body turns into ash and what remains is what is common to all, not just the human race but also the plant and the animal race.

When you lose a woman to another race, it becomes an issue.
When you lose a job to another race, it becomes a problem.
When you get dumped by someone of another race, it becomes a problem.
When you get mugged, robbed, raped, abused, punched up, crashed into, or hurt in any way by another race, it becomes an issue.
When your neighbours of another race are up til all hours of the night, having more sex than you, it becomes an issue.
When your father beat the crap out of you, slept with your sisters, your mum's sisters, his mother and a sheep, and took you "*****" shooting (affect commonly known as Hillbillism), it became a problem (can apply to the female of the species).
When you bet a large amount of money for "your" team and lost to another race's team, it becomes a problem.
When you read a Nazi-type book about how one race is superior to another, without reading any other book about it, it becomes an issue.
When you are so delusional to think your life means more than anyone else's, it becomes a real big issue!

And, you'll find, the list is in order of most hatred (except the last two which depend entirely upon mental capabilities). So the cuckhold hates that race more than the one that hates them because he/she lost his/her job.

It begins then. Race was a factor, you just weren't aware of it. The others in your rich ethnic environment were getting one up on you because of race.

It's because of the media. I played with my friends I didn't even notice thier skin colour. I think it's because of the media. I started noticing race when I was watching T.V.They mention race often. It could also be the way parents raised that thier kids and don't want you to be hanging out with so and so, who is a different race.

My african american lit professor did a study on this, assesing children's reactions, and it took place between age 6-8. By age 8 children had learned to discriminate.

i would say it starts in middle school. that's when cliques begin to form and often there is division of the races. this is just from my personal observations growing up at a diverse school.

maybe this is because I live in OC, but its never an issue with race, just culture, those who tend to act more like thugs hang together, smarter children with smarter children, and skaters with skaters.
