Chicago is the fourth largest city in the US. Large cities have lots of lights coming from houses, roadways, businesses, car headlights, etc. These lights compete with starlight, essentially washing the starlight out.
If you want to see amazing starry skies, go to a place that is not very populated. It will be darker than you've ever seen, and the stars will look sparkly and bright. You will see enormous numbers of stars, too, since even the weaker ones will show up more in the darker sky.

You must be in an area with too much "light Pollution" If you want some good star gazing go out into the country to a place with less lights around say at a cabin in the mountains, then go out and enjoy, Just be careful too!!

I think it's called the smogs and the light pollution, if not air pollution, that dilute the night lights. Are you from a less populated area? Night sky is so beautiful, and it's very unfortunate that one has to give it up to live in the cities. 'Hope you'll get to visit places where you can enjoy them more.

human beings say you may no longer see the celebrities because of the fact of all the tall homes and lights, it quite is easily authentic, yet no longer all of ny is like that. in case you circulate as much as Washington Heights, there are not as many lights, the homes are smaller, and this is extra effective in terms of something of the island, so stargazing is less complicated. additionally, there's a citadel in vital Park referred to as the Belvedere citadel it quite is, i've got faith, the optimal think approximately vital Park. in the past turning out to be a vacationer spot, Belvedere exchange right into a meteorological factor to... watch the celebrities. and various the section around Belvedere is obvious by using baseball fields interior of reach. So, for many Manhattanites, human beings can see the celebrities in the event that they like to locate those superb celebrity looking at places.

city lights give off a glow around them that interferes with the light from the stars(a source of light pollution) ..... this glow extends farther than you can visibly see ........ you put a bunch of lights together (ex ... a city or suburb) you wont be able to see the shining of the stars
another problem could be the pollution level in chicago
go out to a country field with no lights for miles .... youll be amazed

if you're in the heart of the city, it's because of all the city lights....go somewhere where there are a lot less lights and you'll be able to see the stars....one of my favorite things to do, just looking up at the stars at night.
