After washing your face, use an astringent which will close the pores. Choose one by Clean and Clear which you can buy at Walmart, Target, etc. It is even made specific for skin types. Clean and Clear has other products too so make sure you buy Clean and Clear Astringent.

The person with the dog icon was right.. That's a start! I used to have the same problem. Water is your best friend when it comes to taking care of your body. Soda (or too much of it) is a big no no! I suggest trying Noxzema, once in the morning, and once at night. It does wonders for my skin. Hopefully it will do the same for yours. (And if you do buy some -get the jar not the tube or wipes!) The best of luck to you.... And if that doesn't help go to a dermatologist! You may be prescribed something that will greatly aid you.

wash ur face daily but like when u wake up and when u go to sleep. if u wash it too much then the oils just some back quicker. same for hair. natural oils r good for ur skin. i think it might be neutrogena that they have this little blue clothes that u can just keep a pack or somethin in ur purse and just use one when u feel like u need it. if nothing. i mean nothing works after a while, go to ur doctor to see if he can perscribe u something like a lotion or cleanser to clean/wash ur face with.

* Oily Skin Care *

CleansersThe selection of cleansers for oily skin should involve using products that rinse off well, both bar soaps and liquid cleansers have been formulated for this purpose. Many of the soap gels and stronger liquid cleansers are helpful for oily skin. Because the skin on the face, chest, and back is oilier than the rest of the body, it may be necessary to use one product on these areas, and a more moisturizing product on the arms, legs, hands, and feet. Many of the cleansers which are appropriate for acne-prone skin, would be suitable for oily skin.

When the patient actually has acne and not just oily skin, many acne cleansers are available. Neutrogena, Clinique, Medicis, Aveeno, Stiefel, and many other companies have cleansers made specifically for acne. There are benzoyl peroxide cleansers in the form of 5 and 10 % bar soaps and liquid cleansers, which are very effective in controlling acne breakouts.

MoisturizersThe moisturizers for patients with oily skin should be non-comedogenic or oil-free.
There are moisturizers labeled non-comedogenic which are usually thicker than the oil-free products, these may be suitable when the ambient humidity is dry. When the patient is exercising or if the air is hot and humid, these moisturizers may be comedogenic.

FoundationsFoundations for acne prone skin are often formulated to be like a shake lotion the color contents settle on the bottom while the opaque or clear solution is on the top. The bottle is shaken before the foundation is applied, these are the least elegant oil free cosmetics. Most foundations remain mixed together but are not heavy or thick. It is not necessary to have poor coverage in foundations for oily or acne prone skin. Titanium dioxide is the ingredient which allows for better coverage, and that ingredient is not oily, varying amounts of starch and kaolin will thicken up the products without causing acne.

For patients who actually have acne prone skin, the addition of 1-2% salicylic acid may be partially therapeutic. For patients who need a blotter for the excess oil in their skin, extra amounts of starch, kaolin, and polymers which absorb sebum may be added.

You should use gentle cleansers with no fragrance, such as Cetaphil or Eucerin. Most cleansers, wipes, scrubs, etc. contain chemicals and fragrances that dry out your skin, causing your skin to react with oil to moisturize it (info i got from dermatologist). So, try switching to a gentle-no fragrance cleansers and lotions. Drink plenty of water to help hydrate your skin too.

Diet has nothing to do with oilyness of your skin and that is a fact. Probable cause could be hormonal imbalance, stress, irregular life style, etc.

Get more rest, Go to bed early at night and have a regular exersice.
