I would say population wise, its World of Warcraft, many
of my friends have fallen victim to it LOL. I heard
it already has like 11 million player nationwide or something

My personal favorite MMORPG is Star Wars Galaxies. If you're going to roleplay, it's more fun to roleplay in a world as deep and storied as the Star Wars universe! As far as subscribers/players, the most popular is World of Warcraft - it has over 6 million players, who pay over $80 million a MONTH to play!
