I'm not a parent, But I fund my education entirely by myself. Mostly through grants, scholarships and Loans that I can easily get because neither of my parents have any money. Unfortunately, there is a middle ground of parents who make enough money to be able to support their children (according to the government) but realistically cant. Those kids are screwed. On the other end are the rich who can afford to send their kids off to a nice school with a new car and a new computer and loads of spending money without ever blinking.

Im having a hard time funding my own education after high school, my parents feel if I wanna go I can pay for it myself but they make too much money for me to qualify for financial aid. But, I don't make nearly enough to pay for it.

no, i figure they can do it on their own if they want it, not that i wouldn't help, but i think it will mean more if they have to work for it. of course, my son never took advantage of anything that would have put him through college, but my 16 year old daughter has her tuition paid through the state if she wants it.
