How do I achieve this in something like gmail or yahoo mail?

In the To: field, put your email address.
In the BCC: field, put in the email addresses of all 16 people.

When they receive the email they'll see who it is from (you) and who it is for (you).

How I've gotten around this in Yahoo is by using the address book to setup a group e-mail list and labeling it. Then you can address the e-mail to yourself and BCC (blind carbon copy) it to the group. Or you don't have to set up the group, but then you have to put each and every of the 16 addresses in the BCC field.

Hope this helps and best wishes.

USE the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) function. In gmail choose the "add BCC" option under the "to address" field

they are both wrong. put one name in To: and the rest in BCC: putting you in the To: is uneccecerry and stupid as they already know hwo its from and putting it in CC: will let them see who it is from. BCC means blind carbon copy. which means all of them think its only for them. so in closing, one name in to: and the rest in bcc:
