Music influences me. Think it has more influence than anyone realizes. Information overload is common- you're not crazy. On multiple personalities, maybe you could look at it like Derrida who thinks we have no singular self. If there is a self, he postulates, then it is plural. Sounds like you're in a mode of discovery and trying to keep on top of a lot of new information.
Chocolate cream pie..... yeah.

Yes music does influences me but so does everything. There no such thing as the past. So I wouldn't worry about it. But to look at it from where your coming from I guess I can help a little. It sounds to me that tho it may be a pattern its not a good one? I know with me I burn my Bridges so there's no going back. But there's all was something similar to fill that. And when there isn't it hurts but its still a pattern. That best pattern is one that you don't know whats going to happen but are still comfortable. I also Noted you are using things that will help some one fined you, that has nothing to do with what your asking, something may get the right person attention. And tho I don't know what they mean exactly, I would like to chat. You seem dispirit in the bluntness of them. I have one for you. Orange Juices.

Yes music influences me and most everyone else. Have you ever heard the phrase "Music calms the savage beast/"
Music can create the mood as they say.
We have all been in your position. Cramming for a college final at 3:oo A.M. eating cold pizza that you had delivered 5 hours earler. You are not going crazy!
What you need is rest. If you can not do that, at least take the time to just sit and think of calming things like a babbling brook or silly images that you make out of clouds on a pretty day.
There is a semi new concept of power naps, where you just rest for 10 or 15 minutes so that you can get your strength back.
Eat some cinnamon toast, it helps to keep you alert.
Good luck and God Bless!

Yes music influences me alot. It can have an effect on my mood.
I also like Chocolate Cream Pie, too.
If you are feeling overwhelmed with too much new "input", then you may be reverting to old patterns because they feel "familiar" while there is so much that you have taken in that is not familiar.
Once the new information has time to settle in, you will probably get on with your life as usual. Give yourself some time.

Without more information, it would be hard to guess whether you actually have a mental illness or not. If you are concerned this is the case, seek professional counseling.
However, your assessment about retreating into old patterns is correct. Usually when we are stressed particularly if we are not quite comfortable yet with new patterns of thinking and behaving, then we will slip back into old, more familiar patterns even if they aren't particularly useful to us anymore.

don't feel bad . . it seems to me that when you're overloaded with new knowledge, you revert back to old patterns (to safety), but you will begin to intoduce your new info slowly into your old patterns, one at a time, trying them on for size to see if they work in your life . . don't worry, you're NOT multiple personality, just an enlightened soul . . .
