Where are you getting your information?? They most certainly DO steal Japanese and European makes -- LOTS of them! The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are right at the top of the auto theft lists. Mercedes and BMW are also well up there.

Most Stolen: National Insurance Crime Bureau
The popular 1995 Honda Civic was the top pick among thieves during the 2004 calendar year, according to the "Hot Wheels" report released in November 2005 by the (NICB).
In 2004, 1,237,114 motor vehicles were reported stolen which is a decrease of 23,357 vehicles from 2003. Overall in the U.S., car theft was down by almost two percent.
"The slight decrease in auto theft is a positive sign. Now all of us in the fight against vehicle theft and insurance fraud must ensure that we continue the momentum and bring this national crime problem under control," said Robert M. Bryant, president and chief executive officer of the NICB.
The most recent NICB report listed the 1989 Toyota Camry as the second most stolen vehicle, followed by the 1991 Honda Accord.

Most car thieves don't bother with American cars unless it's either: a cadillac escalade, Ford F150 truck, Dodge Caravan, Chevy Corvette, Ford Mustang, or Dodge Ram truck. Any time a theif steals a truck or minivan, it's usually because they're about to go do a B&E or some property crime. Many car thieves steal cars that can be used for aprts or sold to overseas buyers. Because Hondas and Toyotas have great re-sale value and great for parts, they get stolen quite often. Cars like the BMW and Mercedes Benzes are usually sold to overseas buyers. VW Jettas get stolen quite ofte too because they also have really good re-sale value.

toyota camry and honda accord consistently on the top ten list for over ten years but most jap cars print the vin on all body panels wich makes them harder to sell after being chopped so given the chioce i'd rather peel the escalade for all the unmarked parts not to mention the 26 inch rims that fit almost any year chevy truck
