Nope it was just bad for buisness and costed them money. So they ended it. It was called WWF New York and then The World after WWF turned to WWE.

In February 2003, WWE CEO Linda McMahon announced that The World would close its doors so WWE can concentrate on their global efforts. Immediately upon the announcement, the restaurant/nightclub was closed down. The retail shop was closed in April of that year.

The complex remained closed until 2005, when the Hard Rock Cafe took over the lease.

i had the pleasure of visiting the place while in new york some years back.it was a nice place.too bad it had to close.

I think is was called WWE the world
I think sum1 tore it down or sumthing cause they don't use it anymore

It didn't help that the main guy they had running it was a crook who stole who also got busted btw.
